Hall Tree

A friend in my church gave me this Mirror/Bench that was a part of her Grandmother's Bedroom set. I updated it with paint and added a few cute hooks and new drawer knob to turn it into a Hall tree. I wanted to make it more useful ;)

Candy gram

One of my really good friends just turned 30, oh what it would be like to be 30 again! Anyhoo I made this candy gram and surprised it with her at a resturant, I'm sure it'll be one she won't forget. We all went to a movie after and it was priceless to see her rip off the candybars for the movie. Well at least it was useful! All I did was come up with the wordage and print the words off the computer and tape them down on the board, I didn't use posterboard, I used foam board, that I actually got at the dollar store. Then I hot glued the candy bars right onto the board. Voila!

Father's Day 2012

This year I'm reusing the My Stache idea I originally got off of pinterest, along with a cute m&m tag from here. This jar has been the best. First I made one for myself to keep in my pantry, then as a birthday gift, then Graduation gift and now as a Father's Day gift. It's the perfect catch all gift with a little tweeking! I will encourage my hubby to take it to work so it doesn't get confused with my stache.

Framed Mirror

There are so many different tutorials out there for framing in your "builder grade mirror." I referenced this one. My handy husband who is a bit tired of my projects lost at a game of miniture golf and my prize was for him to do this project. Score for me! I went out and bought baseboards from a trim & door store, then he cut them down to size, nailed them together and painted them with some leftover paint I had used in the house (Horsehair Brown). Used fast drying silicone to attach it to the mirror and tape to hold it in place. I think he did a fantastic job!

Bathroom sign

Just like most hallways, we have a hall of doors and guests never know which door to open so few months back I saw a pic on pinterest of an office that had signs for the doors. So I tried to come up with my own version. I found this bracket at Rod Works. It had a sign hanging from it that said "Friends Welcome" I broke it off. Then had they neighbor with the power tools cut out the same shape of the previous sign. I painted it to match the trim on the doors. Then had a piece of vinyl cut to put on the board. I drilled a little hole in top of sign and attached fishing wire to it to the bracket.
