3 Tierd Platter

Recently I needed to make a similar 3 tired platter for a church activity. This time they wanted white plates with crystal candle holders, they were going for a more french country look. I went to about every dollartree store I could find, still with not enough plates found myself at the goodwill and got exactly what I needed. With E600 glue I glued the plates to the candle holders and this is what I got. Total cost roughly $5.50.

Halloween garland

Needed to make some decorations for my kids Halloween class at school, came across this on Pinterest. Luckily my friend has a silloute machine, wish I did! Made it super simple to cut. And then just used some thread and needle to string it along...Love it!!!

Congrats banner

My kindergartner's teacher is prego with her first, so we're putting together a surprise shower, I made this pennet sign out of scrap paper and sewed ribbon on the top. I hope it'll be a big hit, plus it's neutral enough I can use it for other events.

Framed Earing Holder

For a church activity I was putting together framed earring holders, it was really quite simple and cheap to do. First I went to Walmart and got a cute frame for $5, and sawtooth picture hangers for $1, then went to Lowe's and found some sunscreen material you can buy by the foot, and got my trusty staple gun. I took out the glass and cut out the back of the frame with a box cutter knife, then cut out a piece of sunscreen material to cover the back and used my staple gun to secure it in, just pull tight and staple at an angle so the staples don't go through the top of the frame. For only about $6, it turned out really cute. I've also gotten a old key hook to hang my necklaces and bracelets from (Thanks Anna for the idea), I hooked on a child's fabric belt that I attach all my clips to that way I see what I have instead of digging through a drawer for it ;)

Bottle cap necklaces

Been itching to make some bottle cap necklaces for my daughter. So went to Hobby Lobby and found the bottle caps in the scrapbooking section and the epoxy stickers. I cut out of card stock the image I wanted to use with a 1 inch punch and glued it to the bottle cap with E6000, don't use too much glue or it will seep through the image and leave a watermark. Then placed the epoxy sticker on top to seal it. I drilled a hole at the top to put a jump ring in and attach the 18in ball chain necklace, and a hole at the bottom to attach some beads. So easy and cute!

Tiered Cake stand

Recently on Pinterest Click Here I saw a cute 3 tired cake stand someone made from things at a thrift shop. With my daughter's birthday looming I thought I'd attempt to make one. Unfortunately I wasn't as lucky as the original she made it for $6, I however found the candlesticks at the local Goodwill, and 2 cake pans at the Dollar store but had to buy the big one so my total was $16. I think it was totally worth it. I'm sure I'll be using this for baby showers, and game nights, etc...

Canning Chicken again!

It's that time of year again, well basically I ran out of my canned (jar) chicken. Luckily this time my brother had bought a pressure cooker I could borrow. Thank goodness it fit on the stove...just barely! It's funny it only takes hour and half to cook the chicken but the total prep time of getting the pressure cooker ready makes it more like 3hrs. It's worth it in the end homemade canned chicken beats the stuff they sell in cans any day!!!
